Travel Tips
Things to Know Before You Book
1. You may experience altitude sickness (such as headaches, insomnia, loss of appetite, etc.) while traveling to Kailash. Therefore, it is essential to conduct altitude acclimatization training in advance and prepare necessary medications, daily necessities to combat altitude sickness.
2. Traveling to Kailash typically takes 10 to 15 days. The exact number of days varies depending on the itinerary. The entire journey involves departing from Lhasa or Kathmandu, passing through a series of high-altitude areas, and finally arriving at Mount Kailash. You can choose the itinerary according to your own needs.
3. Due to the high risks of traveling to Mount Kailash, it's crucial to get comprehensive travel insurance, including coverage for altitude sickness and emergency evacuation. This protects against health issues and unexpected events like trip delays or accidents.
Things to Know After You Book
1. Once you've booked your Kailash tour, always remember that teamwork is crucial, especially during the trek. Mutual support and communication among group members will help you overcome challenges. The guide not only provides commentary but also assists with managing the risks associated with high altitude. Following the guide's instructions will ensure a safe and successful trip.
2. After booking your Kailash trip for a specific month, check the weather forecast for Mount Kailash for that month to ensure you bring appropriate items and equipment for the weather and temperature. If you're unsure where to find the latest weather information for Mount Kailash, you can check our homepage or contact our customer service directly.
3. After booking your Mount Kailash trip, you'll need to plan your route from your departure point to Lhasa or Kathmandu. For example, you could fly to the Chinese Mainland (Chengdu, Xining, Beijing, etc.) and then take the Qinghai-Tibet Railway to Lhasa. Given the large number of people planning to visit Mount Kailash in 2026, we recommend confirming your travel arrangements with our customer service in advance.
4. If unforeseen circumstances affect the rest of the trip, you will need to follow the tour guide's instructions.
